Dr. Daniel Shelby
Dr. Daniel Shelby grew up in Central Montana and learned many aspects of being an outdoorsman. Dr. Shelby’s father was/is a practicing dentist in Montana, which encouraged him into a career in dentistry. It was at an early age Dr. Shelby knew dentistry would be his chosen field.
Dr. Shelby moved to Missoula Montana with his family where he attended a Christian high school and then later attended The University of Montana where he received a degree with honors in microbiology and majored in medical technology, premedical sciences, cell and molecular biology and minored in chemistry. After graduating from undergraduate University, Dr. Shelby worked in his father’s general practice modernizing his office into a computer driven practice and also managed his practice to better understand “the Business”. After a year of working for his father, Dr. Shelby applied to dental school and decided to attend Boston University Goldman school of Dental Medicine where he received his dental degree also with honors.
Dr. Shelby met his lovely wife Orsi while in dental school and they were later married in Missoula Montana, June 2008. Dr. Shelby worked with his father in Missoula MT and brother in Havre MT for one year before deciding to open his own general practice in North Dakota in an area of extreme dental shortage. He practiced dentistry in North Dakota for 5 years. General practice was gratifying, but Dr. Shelby found that his interests mostly were in surgery/periodontics and therefore he applied to periodontal residencies. He then attended The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University where he received a periodontal specialty degree July 1, 2017.
Dr. Shelby and his wife have two children Anna and Roy Shelby. His family attends Baptist churches, and they enjoy music, art, outdoor activities and traveling to see family in Europe, Montana and Texas.
